We’re rebuilding our beloved Bike Path!

The 8-mile Bike Path will be reconstructed through the Burlington Bike Path Rehabilitation.  This multi-use path, originally constructed 25 years ago, runs along the Lake Champlain waterfront and through downtown Burlington.  The project limits extend throughout the entire City of Burlington beginning at the Queen City Park Road southern terminus and extending northerly to the Winooski River Bridge.  The project kicked off in July of 2013 with the full conceptual re-design of the path.  Design and construction will be phased over subsequent years.

In early summer of 2015, Phase 1a construction was completed realizing improvements from Perkins Pier through Waterfront Park: strategic realignment of the path, widening of the path to include gravel shoulders (where possible), and centerline striping and green navigation paint, among other improvements.  Phase 1b, from the northern end of the Waterfront Access North site through the Urban Reserve, is currently in design development with preparations underway for Phase 1b to be under construction this fall.
