A New Community Center in the Old North End
Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront is leasing the entire second floor of the O.N.E. Community Center. We’re calling the space the Center of Recreation & Education, or the CORE. This new facility is focused on providing opportunities for inclusive social spaces, and programs with a variety of partnerships. The CORE will focus on inter-generational programming of all types with specific focus on the Old North End neighborhood. We program active recreation in the gym, and teen and adult learning in the classrooms. We also offer community space to rent for meetings or programs as well as large space for multi-cultural festivities.
As part of BPRW’s expanded senior programming the Champlain Senior Center has relocated to the center!
It will also house a new O.N.E. Youth Center serving kids ages 14-24, specifically youth of color and members of the New American populations. Programs range from recreational to educational to professional development services.
We are sharing the building with several other organizations and non-profits: Very Merry Theater, Hindu Temple Association, AALV, the Family Room, Robins Nest childcare and Vermont Adult Learning.
Call us for more details, or to ask about renting the gym or classroom spaces: 802-540-6888
We’re looking for staff and program instructors to bring the new Community Center to life. Learn more here!
