Additional Information about the CORE Adult Center

The CORE Adult Center (formerly known as the Champlain Senior Center), founded in 1990, supports the independence and well-being of older adults, enhances their dignity and self-respect, and promotes their participation in all aspects of community life.

In 2016, we began to manage the Adult Center, a congregate meal site location. At BPRW, we understand that seniors are the largest growing population in the Burlington area. We will not only continue to support senior activities, but we will strive to offer trending programs that enhance the lives of all involved participants.

For over twenty years, the Adult Center has provided a rich array of nutritional, educational, health, social and recreational programs to Chittenden County residents age 50 and over. Wednesdays

Very Merry Theatre/Senior Moments Group 10:30-11:30 –Our Senior Moments Group is practicing three skits we will be performing on Wednesday, December 22 @ 2:00.

International Cooking with Chef Mulu on December 15 10:30-11:30

Senior Moments Performance-The group that meets on Wednesday mornings with Very Merry Theatre will be performing several Senior Moment skits.  Performance is @ 2:00 On Wednesday December 22.

Cardio Drumming Class will be drumming after the Senior Moments Performance.

Social Hour 11:00-12:00

Cardio Drumming on December 8 & 22 -12:30-1:30
Brings together drumsticks, an exercise ball, and an exercise ball stand to create one of the most fun workouts you will ever do. Using the exercise ball and the floor as your drum, and mixing in fun moves, cardio-drumming turns keeping a rhythm into a workout you will not want to stop.

Thursdays

Matter of Balance  on December 2, 9, 16 & 30. 10:30-12:00 this will be the last 4 weeks of the 8-week series. Matter of Balance (MOB) is specifically designed to reduce the fear of falling and improve activity levels. Future Matter of Balance Classes will be offered.
