Recreation Fees & Policies
FEES
Payment is due at time of registration. Fees will not be prorated due to late enrollment.
Resident rates for programs apply to those residing within the Burlington City limits at the time registration is submitted.
After you have registered, you will receive an email confirmation if you registered online(please check your spam folder). If the class is full, you will be notified and placed on a waiting list.
You must register prior to the beginning of a program, NO DROP-INS unless specifically stated.
SCHOLARSHIP POLICY
We want everyone to be able to participate in BPRW’s recreation programs, regardless of financial status. Scholarship assistance is dependent on the applicant’s level of need and the specific program or activity the applicant is registering for. All Burlington residents are eligible!
- All BPRW programs are eligible for scholarship funding
- BPRW scholarships are awarded to Burlington residents only
- Scholarships are awarded for all ages
- Scholarships must be in place before registering for a program, they cannot be retroactively applied.
- Should your level of need change, scholarship applications may be re-submitted at any time
- If you are awarded a partial scholarship, payment for the remaining balance will be due at time of registration
- Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis and are subject to budget availability.
- Scholarship applications may take up to 10 business days to process
To apply for a scholarship:
Step 1: Apply for a scholarship request through our registration system, Civic Rec. Please create an account if you do not already have one. Add the scholarship application to your cart and then “check out”.
Step 2: You will be notified of your application status within 10 business days. We strive to be sensitive to requests for programs with imminent start dates, but timely application submissions are encouraged to avoid delays.

CANCELLATIONS
Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront may cancel classes due to low enrollment, weather, or instructor cancellations.
REFUND POLICY
Unless otherwise stated, a maximum refund of 50% is available if requested at least three weeks before the start of the program or activity. Requests for refunds must be made by calling (802) 864-0123 at least three weeks in advance. No refunds will be given within the three week window ahead of a program. Refunds will not be issued if a participant is dismissed from the program for any reason.
Grace Period
The grace period allows for a full refund if the request is made within one week of the original registration date, unless this period falls within the three-week window before the program’s start date. In that case, the standard refund policy applies.
Fees
Please note that if a participant chooses to withdraw from the program, the debit or credit card processing fees will not be refunded. However, if we are required to cancel the program, the debit or credit card fees will be refunded.
Medical Requests
Refund requests due to medical reasons can be made with a valid doctor’s note.
