Warblers and Wildflowers May Day Walk

May 1, 2016 @ 7:00 am - 9:30 am

Free

Join Field Naturalists Alicia Daniel and Sean Beckett in Ethan Allen Park, on this BPRW walk as we look up, down and all around for splashes of spring color.   Black-throated Blue, Yellow and Blackburnian warblers will be decked out in the blue, yellow and orange breeding plumage.  These songbirds are easiest to spot before the trees leaf out.   In early May, woodland wildflowers like Blue Cohosh, Bloodroot, and Trillium race to unfurl their leaves, flower, and fruit before the shade overtakes the forest floor.  These migrating birds and ephemeral flowers will put on a show that will be over by June.  Bring binoculars, if you have them.  Easy to moderate hiking.  All ages.
