Elmwood Cemetery

Elmwood Cemetery is located at the corner of Elmwood Avenue and North Street in the City’s Old North End. Contains the graves of Ethan Allen’s second wife, Frances “Fanny” Montresor Penniman, Zadock Thompson, Pilot Joseph Barron of MacDonought’s flagship The Saratoga at the Battle of Plattsburgh, Revolutionary War Soldiers and many early residents of the town. Space is not available for any additional burials. Open by request. Call 863-2075 to make arrangements.
