Winterlude

Your friends and neighbors in Burlington’s Old East End are sponsoring 2nd Annual Winterlude Festival to help you chase away those winter blues! This event is a chance to break with the isolation of winter and to visit Schmanska Park (63 Grove Street, Burlington) in a Covid-safe manner. Enjoy outdoor activities throughout February including snowshoeing, sledding, cross-country skiing, nature walks, and a kid’s Story Walk® for kids. We encourage everyone in Burlington’s Old East End neighborhood and adjoining Winooski and South Burlington neighborhoods to join us for this free and fun winter celebration.

Friday, February 4 (5-8 pm)

Enjoy the decorative lighting, hand-crafted vellum lanterns, and special ice-luminaires while sipping a hot beverage around our warming area fire pit.

Saturday February 5 (10 am-2 pm) and Sunday February 6 (10 am- 2 pm)

Take advantage of free loaner equipment for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding. Hot beverages and treats will be available at the fire pit in the warming area and local musicians will keep the beat going.

Old East End 2nd Annual Winterlude Festival is sponsored in conjunction with AARP VT, Burlington Parks Recreation and Waterfront, UVM Office of Student and Community Relations and the Old East End Neighborhood Coalition. We observe all current Covid-19 protocols. If necessary, weather-related backup dates for special events will be February 11-13.
