Poetry Writing in Burlington’s Urban Wilds

From William Wordsworth to Mary Oliver, poets have turned to nature for inspiration, consolation, fascination and delight. We invite you to join your friends and neighbors by taking time out to read, write and reflect on our natural landscape, and allow it to inspire you to create your own imaginative poems. We’ll begin by reading a selection of poems by well-known poets. Then, armed with suggestions and ideas, participants will disperse to look, listen and record their observations and reflections. After a period of time alone, we will come back together to talk about how we might turn our first impressions into finished poems we might want to share.
