Join the Community for the Annual Open Streets BTV!

On September 30th , Open Streets BTV invites people of all ages to bike, stroll, roll, skate and celebrate one of Burlington’s largest public spaces – our streets! People will enjoy miles of safe streets for exercise and play, parks filled with food and activities.

Participants are welcome to jump in the fun at any time or point along the route!

There will be a wide variety of activities and entertainment, food, and fun for all! Get active, make new friends, and take advantage of this exciting event, proudly produced by Burlington Parks, Recreation and Waterfront.

Volunteering

We need 52 volunteers to make this event happen! Volunteers will receive a cool commemorative t-shirt and City Market Member Worker hours. The two available time slots mean that there is plenty of time before or after your shift to get a sandwich from a food truck, listen to some music, and traverse the open streets!

• Intersection Superheroes: help watch over closed intersections and redirect vehicle traffic off of the route
• Information Superstars: provide helpful, friendly information to event participants
• Super Cyclist Escorts: safety escort local vehicular traffic off the route by bike

Open Streets BTV invites YOU to participate on September 11th! Open Streets BTV attracts between 2000-3000 people. This is an incredible opportunity for your organization or business to:

• Give back to the community
• Educate a larger audience about your services and offerings
• Have a strong presence at a fun event with a positive reception

Open Streets BTV’s goals focus on active transportation, community health, public space, community building, and local businesses. Presence at Open Streets must be accompanied by a fun, free, interactive and engaging activity. Hosts are encouraged to sponsor activities relating to their mission and goals as well as that of Open Streets. We’d love to help you brainstorm! The most unique activities are the ones people remember.
