Champlain Senior Center Moves to the Old North End Community Center this Weekend.

The Champlain Senior Center will be closed on Friday October 27 and Monday & Tuesday October 30 & 31 for moving. The Center will reopen on Wednesday November 1, at 10:00 AM., with our regularly scheduled activities and meals.

Details about the hours, activities and daily weekday lunches can be found on our webpage, or their Facebook page.

The new location on the second floor of the Community Center will have three dedicated rooms for the Champlain Senior Center that include space for the afternoon meals and activities such as exercise programs and crafts. The new facility is owned by the Champlain Housing Trust and has undergone recent renovations for improved accessibility with the addition of an elevator. Burlington Parks, Recreation and Waterfront (BPRW) is investing in upgrades to the Center as well.

With the opening of the Champlain Senior Center at The Old North End Community Center, participants can look forward to more health & wellness programs, artistic offerings, dance & special events. Monthly programs and trips are also offered on a regular basis.

The move is part of BPRW’s commitment to serve the diverse needs of residents in the O.N.E. with multi-generational programs.

Located at the site along with the Champlain Senior Center is: AALV, Hindu Temple, Very Merry Theater, the Family Room and Robin’s Nest. BPRW is also partnering with AALV, NEST and Connecting Cultures to operate the Youth Center on the second floor, where they are able to take advantage of access to a gymnasium and dedicated classroom space.
