November Path Closures

The weather may be getting colder, but the work isn’t stopping (yet!)

Our planning team and contractors are getting several projects underway along the Burlington Greenway including; the North Shore Pause Place (staircase), Waterfront Park, and the southern section for phase 3 of the path rehabilitation.

There will be temporary closures and detours!

1. Greenway at the south entrance of Oakledge Park

The southern entrance to the park at Austin Drive is closed for realignment and paving work until late November. Please enter Oakledge via Flynn Ave until this project is complete.

2. Greenway between Starr Farm and North Ave. Extension Closed 11/7

Crews will be pouring concrete at the new North Shore pause place. Work continues through the end of the week. Stay tuned here for more info.

3. South End Greenway Closures: November 8-9

The Burlington Greenway will be closed for several hours on Thursday, Nov 8 and Friday, November 9. Because of space and access constraints, the section between the Lakeside Neighborhood and Roundhouse Point, the path will be completely closed for several hours Thursday afternoon.

Construction of Phase 3a, from Proctor Place to Perkins’s Pier, is slated for spring 2019. Soil sampling will inform the design process and help accurately forecast costs.

They’re also doing bridge inspections along that stretch.

The Greenway will be fully open Saturday morning, 11/10

4. Waterfront Park Detour: November 9

The closure will take 2 to 3 days for electrical work and repaving of the crossing(s). Walkers and bikers will detour onto the western part of the path – NOT onto Lake Street.
