Clean Parks Initiative

We are looking for park stewards willing to help with the doing routine trash pick up in park areas.

Getting Started

  • Create a group
  • Pick a park location
  • Pick a date and time
  • Contact our Grounds Manager Paul Morris  with above information to get your event going

Supplies

We provide the following supplies:

  • Sign-in sheet
  • Trash bags
  • Gloves
  • A map of the park with suggested routes
  • Flags (to mark the location of any needles)
  • Trash pickers available on request
  • (A Lock box can be dropped with supplies ahead of events on request for weekends)

When you’re done…

  • Leave the filled trash bags at designated dump areas or by any trash receptacle noted on the provided park map
  • Help us keep track of the work being done in the parks by recording the number of volunteers, the amount of time spent, and the number of bags collected on the spreadsheet provided
  • Don’t forget to send pictures to us using #BurlingtonCleanParksInitiative on social media or reach out to us via Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram

Our friends at Waste Free Earth and Planet people are organizing community clean up events. They are available for a pick-up most any weekday upon request.  Check the calendar for times and locations and drop by lend a hand. They might also be organizing a larger event near you!
